8th ward board members volunteer at YearlyKos.

January 2006 - 8th ward board members Joy Ward and Cara Jensen are involved with the 2006 YearlyKos convention.  YearlyKos is a natural outgrowth of the DailyKos online community.  The DailyKos is the highest-trafficked political blog on the web, with about 3-5 million visits and 4-6 million page views per week and growing rapidly.  Named after founder Markos Moulitsas Zúniga Daily Kos started on May 26, 2002 is maintained from Berkeley, California. The YearlyKos convention was started by a core group of volunteers, all members of the online community and supported by Kos.

YearlyKos is a unique, "how-to" program designed from the ground up to appeal to the online progressive community. Three days of informative panels, keynotes from major political and entertainment figures and interactive discussion will explore new models and strategies for winning more elections and making voices heard.

Ward and Jensen will be coordinating signings from the major progressive authors scheduled throughout the convention,  managing the central convention bookstore, and soliciting progressive publishers and authors for the convention.  For more information, go to www.yearlykos.org.
